MICHELANGELO
Michelangelo is said to have experienced
“melancholia” and had symptoms of bipolar
disorder. Michelangelo painted more than 400
figures on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel
between 1508 and 1512, some perhaps mirroring
his apparent depression.
