Helping Students Balance Stress
“I have some math professors who obviously know their stuff,
but I can’t understand their English at all. It’s so easy to
completely disengage when I have to work so hard to
understand what they are trying to say. In these cases it
would be great to get the professor’s notes from Blackboard
so I can know what they said.”

“There is just too much material in each course to really learn
it; there is a massive amount of reading and massive
numbers of hours necessary for problem sets. How can I
possibly do it all?”
—Neurobiology Student
“A simple explanation at the beginning of a course that a 50
on an exam doesn’t necessarily mean that you will fail the
course would really help. In high school a B would be deadly,
but here a B in a course might be a fact of life, even with
monumental effort and late-night hours studying for exams.”
