2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health (PDF/6.96 Megabytes)
Provided by The Trevor Project, this survey captured the experiences of close to 34,000 LGBTQ young people, ages 13 to 24, throughout the United States. Of the respondents, 45% were LGBTQ youth of color and 48% of respondents identified as nonbinary or transgender. The results of the survey show an upward trend in the rates of suicidal thoughts among LGBTQ youths over the past three years. The data provides insight into suicide risk factors that are unique to LGBTQ youth. Further, the data helps to identify ways to support LGBTQ youth and assist with suicide prevention.
